Your first visit to our office is very important. It gives both of us an opportunity to get to know each other and establish a good relationship from the beginning. Sometimes your first visit is an emergency. If that is the case, we will attend to the emergency situation first and make you comfortable.
If your first visit does not have an emergency concern, we will begin with a comprehensive exam which includes x-rays. After discussing your concerns, we will review your medical and dental histories. We then do a thorough evaluation of your oral health. This includes an examination of all of the “soft tissues” including an oral cancer screening and evaluation of the supporting gums to detect periodontal disease. Each tooth is examined for decay or defective restorations.
Your treatment options may be discussed at this time. If your condition requires complex planning, it may be necessary to schedule a separate consultation appointment.
